Been using these for years and never had a problem. Well worth it if you need to stock up on tubes.

I have an earlier version. Fantastic thing to own, for 'emergency roadside repairs' or any other time you need a floodlight on something that's nowhere near electricity or a light socket.
But it would be terrible as an emergency bike light. Too big, awkward shape, way too much dazzle.
