He's gainfully employed these days so he doesn't have as much 'free' time like before.

Eh? Is this your excuse in case you took the Ally Pally experience to Ditchling?![]()
I shall be riding back as usual, hanging on to the tail of team fast. However, I give due notice, I will not be taking the Devil's Dyke option. I hate that road!
Good idea Ian. And as we ride past Balcombe station I can reminisce when, on one of my first century rides, I was within a gnats whisker of throwing my bike in the ditch and getting a train home.Be nice to do another route... back over Ditchling?
Ditcling, Cuckfield, B2036 all the way to the A23.
For me ditchling and "best" are not associations that first spring to mind. I'm considering breaking my duck on this ride too. The speed and distance doesnt bother me, my main worry is the sleep deprivation.
How do people cope with working all day Friday, riding a bike to Brighton and staying awake until mid day on Saturday? I worry I'll fall asleep on the bike.
I'm with you there - for me the Brighton FNR is a lovely ride marred by Ditchling Beacon.
Im never ever ever going to forget that experience again in my life
it haunts me to this day I'm riding with a pack of duracell![]()
There must be a good reason for itI'm sure it's not an irretrievable situation though, with a bit of conciliatory effort.
And on that occasion, for me too.The Beacon made it for me.
