Not so tricky.
Anything in single figures points towards longs. Legs and fingers
Agreed. Bibshorts under thicker knee length winter bibs. Spare long gloves that acquitted themselves well on LonJog when TMN described them as the Magic Gloves Of War. Spare windproof. Hat over top of ears. And Carradice to put it in when warm. After Southend and minus 7 I am unconcerned about any temperature above freezing.

Oh dear that sounds a bit Tolkien
Nothing wrong with that. And if Wowbagger turns up he can do a Gandalf imitation. Simon can be Bilbo. Anyone for Samwise Gamgee?

Blimey! With your last-weekend-before-christmas-ride-to-Whizzy-belle-in-shorts experience, that's saying something.

Yerbut, that was a couple of years ago, when we still had global warming. And besides, it was around 16˚ that day.

Yeah, it's saying that he has gone soft become more sensible.
He's deffo gone somewhere.....

It’s possible that 3 weeks in the American West, enduring/enjoying 38˚ at times, may have skewed my temperature perception.
However, after cycling in today before 7:30 am, I only had a thin jacket over a jersey and shorts and felt quite toasty, so it could be I've starting to get used to it, so I might still be attired in a minimal style tonight.

Wet rain's the worst kind. Not what the Beeb, Metcheck or XCWeather are forecasting though.

I refer the right honourable Gentleman to exhibits A and B...

Ping StuAff (or anyone else who might know) - I've been looking at Google street view for the ride home - can we cycle over the swing bridge and along the prom at Littlehampton?
Jenny, I have a route in mind (and on a piece of paper) which uses a footbridge over the Arun at Littlehampton from Ferry Road over to the Arun Inn.
p.s. Which train are you getting?

I'd thought of taking us through Dorking because the moon was so bright last night that it woke me up, and the moonlight on the Mickleham Gap is something to behold......but, if the Met Office map is to be believed then we're better off taking the shorter route to Faygate in the hope of being inside when the centre of the shower passes over. Even then....if the sky is clear as we go south from Betchworth it will be a wonder to behold.
