Ironically enough at about the same time I was leaving Mordor Central - though, alas, stepping off a train (which unusually for London Midland, was actually early!) rather than catching a London bound one. Sigh.
Have a nice time, it looks like it's going to be a nice night, not too cold and lovely and clear. I wish I were with you...

On past performances, go to a five star hotel and have a sumputuous meal then claim he spent the night in an ice cave. Ranulph Fiennes, on the other hand, is the Real Deal, and would probably burn his own fingers to keep warm, not that he'd need to. Who do you want to emulate?
If you meet Mr Grylls and he offers you a Mars Bar, politely decline. I met a bloke once from the Royal Armoured Corps who had been on some kind of Army survival/escape and evasion course with him. Apparently he was keen on secreting Mars bars about his person in such a manner as to avoid a cursory search. (almost topical as you're going to Chatham)

Yes. I knew someone from that area who used to secrete sweets in a similar fashion and was not averse to consuming said cache; it reminded me of that old standard...'Chatham nougat chew chew' Beats a dose of 'Andrews' any day.

The allupurinol takes 12-18 months to work its magic, if you've just started taking it you will get several gout attacks because the levels of uric acid changing will cause the acid to crystallise, naproxen at the first twinge and also discuss colchicin with the GP. Drink lots if water 2-3 lites per day and eat cherries.Thanks all. I'm p'd off. I like the Whitstable ride and Allopurinol is meant to protect me from gout but obviously not.
@PippaG based on last time "oh I can't possibly ride back" but let's race you to Rochester, I think you could work all day and still win the sprint
Tough luck it was a great ride, dry and with some great scenery and a couple of cheeky going up bits!

I've been on allopurinol for about 5 months now. I think I got it cos I overdosed on cheap sugary drinks last weekend. Fruit sugars are my trigger. I don't get open with Naproxen at all so I use Indometacin instead. It's worked as I'm able to move about today.
