Hi

Im looking into getting a heart rate monitor for cycling and running, I would also ideally like it to tell me speed on bike and all the usual cycle computer stuff, is this asking to much from one item? Does anyone have any recomendations?

Ideally looking to spend about £50 - 100. Looking for one that has audible alarms if you drop below a certain level.

It also needs to be adapatable for running as well.

Thanks for help.

I use a Polar FS2C Black Heart Rate Monitor. Simple to use, low cost large readout display.

No not at all. Polar do some. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Polar_CS200cad_Wireless_HRM_Cycle_Computer/5360027225/ has cadence, more basic model http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Polar_CS100_Wireless_HRM_Cycle_Computer/5360036967/ and http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Polar_CS200_Wireless_HRM_Cycle_Computer/5360036491/

Sorry about the link to the devil's website . Anyway Polar do exactly what you're asking in some of those models. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole though, I had one of those models and the speedometer part of it broke. They are easily detatchable from the bike. I have a separate polar HRM which I'm very happy with though.

Garmin Forerunner 305. Extremely wide range of functions. I use mine for running and cycling, and with (a couple of plastic bags) for open water swims as well. It is amazing quite how much I go off course! www.tritalk.co.uk forums are a good place to discuss this
