Could she have sat next you because the bus was quite crowded and there were only a few spare seats by any chance? Maybe occupying one of the other remaining seats would have meant sitting next to what appeared like total fruit cakes and you were the least worse option? Just saying. Using public transport tends to mean you come into contact with fruit cakes, general nutters, the great unwashed and rude people in suits quite often.

It's certainly nice to be asked (I've done so in the past - no one has ever taken up the offer) but equally it wouldn't really bother me much if no-one asked. Sadly we live in a society where many probably think about offering but carry on without doing so.

Annoyed? No. Disappointed probably. Will always enquire if they are all right if I see someone who might be in trouble even if it looks like they may be coping. Its nice for someone if you see someone cares.

In 2012 I've fixed 2 punctures and a snapped chain for other people. I guess it is who's around when problems happen.

I tend to slow down and say a friendly 'are you okay?' Does no harm, unless I slow down too much and forget I'm clipped in and end up capsizing, giving the askee the opportunity to be the asker.

This has never happened.
