Not always easy to say how far you go. I have averaged about 34 miles per ride for the last 3 years, made up of a mix of different sorts of rides. I don't do any commuting, so that is around 3,000 miles in about 90 leisure rides per year.
A weekly club ride of 30-45 miles and regular solo rides of 20-25 miles make up most of my rides, along with 15 or so 10-30 mile rides when on holiday abroad.
I've also been doing a Metric Century a Month Challenge ride every month, which brings up the average quite a bit. I would recommend throwing in a few longer or more challenging rides regularly if you are tempted to take your bike with you when you go on holiday. I have found it makes all the difference, having the extra stamina. It's great knowing that you can just head off on your bike and explore, whatever the terrain. That has allowed me to realise my dream of cycling in the Alps on 3 occasions now.
