I really doubt it. And the new inner tubes come in a box as well.
Ah well, each one of mine comes in 1/24th of a box. In fact at the rate I get punctures that box may well "see me out"...

Even if that's true, by the time you've got through the contents of that box, you've saved a dozen tubes from landfill. That has to make sense.

Pleased to say patch 8 (and patches 1 to 7) have held pressure overnight - so I might as well keep going.

I think perhaps I'll keep going until there are holes that are awkward to patch because the others are in the way.

Those of you that throw away rather than patch - why?

I patch, but usually at home, as I carry spares. Once I get above a certain failure threshold, I cut the tube into rubber bands. Tubes hold really well when you patch them, no use throwing away a good tube for a small problem that can be easily rectified.

I throw the inner tube away when it gets a puncture!
But why?

I've replace both tubes recently 1st one valve was destroyed by a 3 year old when I was showing him my track pump (kids are fascinated by the track pump) second one was so old the rubber went around the stem seal.

I've got a puncture on my 'new' eBay bike.

On removing the tyre I found an inner tube with no less than seven patches already. Soon to be eight because I don't have another to hand - but this got me wondering how many patches you use before you consider a tube finished?

I think this will be the last one for this tube; I'll be picking up a spare tomorrow!
Never patch tubes always use new
