Having spent a couple of hours yesterday cleaning both bikes I have, got me thinking on how much money I have spent on bike maintenance this year,

Just on essential items to keep the bikes going.

Road bike, £40 on 2 new tyres.
MTB, 3 new tyres, 2 sets of brake blocks, 3 inner tubes, 2 puncture repair kits, bike pump. so about £70

How much have you spent!!

Well I only started riding again back in October but so far I've replaced:
2 tyres £40
2 tubes £10
Lights £30 (on sale)
new saddle £25 (on sale)
and if you count the cleaning stuff....some disc cleaner and chain lube £10

This year on bike stuff, must be at least £2-2.5k . Although quite a lot is sitting on an interest-free CC so technically I've not spent anything

Pump, track pump, cycling attire, insurance excess after bike was stolen from shed with everything attached, extra security for said shed = £300ish not bad I don't think

Service, £30, then the whole drive train replaced and a full service, £170. Not bad. Oh, and panniers, triple Raleigh, £25 off Amazon. No lights this year, need a new front one from Phaart so that's a Lady Godiva, £230 for the year. Happy with that.

New lights, new brake pads, new tyres, finally coughed up for the second-hand saddle I'd 'borrowed', an aldi workstand, posh deda bars, Mr Sheen x2. Around 60p per day! Will probably get new brake levers before Jan. Next year I'm hoping to add N+1.
