I know I have not spent as much as the wife would like me too on cycling, as I have written before I have been publicly told off by the wife whilst in PlanetX for not buying a new bike.

Too many things to list here but I have spent in the region of 2k on parts, clothing and consumables. 2nd bike bought on C2W also.

As Cyclopathic said. I don't see it as spending but investing. I'm investing in my future, I will probably live a little longer and in better health than if I spent my money elsewhere.

As much as I needed to do in order to enjoy my hobby.

Plus a bit more buying next year's spares in advance.

But not as much as I could have done.

Haven't added up, but have a feeling it is a fair amount and not something to be discussed in good company ^_^

I started from scratch in July. New bike and all the trimmings, helmet, peddles, shoes,,locks, bags, Gore waterproof jacket, tools, and untold clothing. All for the very reasonable sum of around £400.
Its truly amazing how cheap cycling gear is these days. My only concern is, if my wife ever takes up cycling my bargain hunting (lying through my back teeth) goose will be cooked.

£150 on mechanical bits, £117 on clothing and £2.39 on tools (spoke key) I saved almost a grand on the fuel bill though so even taking these off i'm almost £700 up by cycling to work.
