Rather a lot. The bike needed a new shed. So I bought one.
In the Alps.
In the Alps.

Having spent a couple of hours yesterday cleaning both bikes I have, got me thinking on how much money I have spent on bike maintenance this year,
Just on essential items to keep the bikes going.
Road bike, £40 on 2 new tyres.
MTB, 3 new tyres, 2 sets of brake blocks, 3 inner tubes, 2 puncture repair kits, bike pump. so about £70
How much have you spent!!
About 1/3rd of my disposable. Not a penny of it grudged. The pleasure of owning/using vintage bikes outweighs any monetary considerations for me![]()
Gave my car to my youngest son earlier in the year as I was no longer using it to any great extent. Mind you still seem to get suckered for running costs!!!! Hey Ho parenthood eh!I don't grudge spending cash on my bike as it gives me great pleasure....look after your bike and it will look after you...different story with my car....I hate spending money on it
