My totally unscientific anecdotal survey would suggest that if you have sleep problems that women struggle to fall asleep in the first place whereas men fall asleep easily but wake up in the early hours and then can't get back off again.

You need to leave your job if its really affecting your quaility of life. You do not want to end up with severe depression because of it.
Are you in a job where you can apply for agency work and get it? if so then I'd consider this.
If not then apply for everything and anything that comes up that you think you can do.
I’ve been thinking of doing an agency run about from c.v library.

Get comfortable in bed. Then start thinking of the names of all the men friends you have ever had whose first names begin with A, visualising their faces. Then B. Then C. Let us know how far through the alphabet you get.

I do a different version of this game. I won't elaborate, but F does stand for fantastic.

How can one get to sleep this evening? Thinking about going to a job you hate with co-workers you can’t trust. Also after going to bed later and getting up later for 10 days?
I’m close to phoning up mind.

Stress is a real reason to take time off, talk to your doc.

I’m freelance so I either put up with it or feck off

Seriously though, I’ve recently made other things more important than work. Training before work helps.

And after.

Phone off at 9.

Tv 9-10.

Then bed with EDIT iPlayer Radio drama.

Mrs Slick loves the TV on when were in bed, finds it relaxing apparently.
It's more the blue type light from phones, computers, laptop screens etc that can be an issue than TV. But whatever works for the individual

I'd avoid the screen time before bed. Read a book instead

I think this works better if you can do it.

Just realised I wasn’t clear in my post, I listen to iPlayer radio to distract my mind enough to sleep. No looking at the phone after nine.

It’s funny. I could be up for another four hours but if I follow the routine I’m usually asleep just a few minutes into whatever radio show is running - Good Omens (Gaiman/Pritchett) is on at the moment it’s the third time around and I finally listened to the last episode in daytime to find out the ending

Then there’s the going past people’s Christmas lights early in the morning. Inconsiderate people.
