Ignore List

After months of debating with myself about it, I've finally instigated an ignore list. It was a tough call between maybe missing something interesting and not having to read drivel (yes I know I could save time by not posting!). Now I've got one I can see it being like a burst dam.

Don't you find that's like "Don't think about an elephant?". As I scroll down a list of posts I tend to scan them all. Now I don't have to.

No one has posted anything in particular. It's just something I've been thinking about for a while.

I periodically change mine. Sometimes people annoy you over a topic (not the chocolate kind) so I ignore them for a bit. I admit, some have never come off, I think of them as on the irrelevant list

Doesn't it muck things up when you can see posts without knowing who/what prompted them?

Perfectly reasonable, you choose not to hang around with people you think are plonkers in real life, why shoud the interwebs be any different, in fact there's a lot more plonkers online than you'll ever bump into in real life.

I've not been here long and have an albeit short, ignore list already, but I'm at an age where I don't gladly suffer fools, life is to short. If it enhances the user experience its all good. Hello, hello, is this thing on?.....is anyone there?

Not really. It's a bit weird on the new threads where it just lists the latest poster as "Person on your ignore list" or something like that.

I don't like using the ignore list, but when a certain member started to send abusive and threatening personal messages, I discovered that the ignore list was the most effective way to stop them.

Edit... My mistake, that didn't actually stop them. I had to set my privacy details so that only "followers" can send PMs. Since I can't be bothered with those pointless niceties, I don't get PMs!
