Most of my nieces and nephews I don't like going out for a meal with, as they don't seem to be able to sit at a table. At that age mine generally behaved and if they didn't they were told how I would like them to behave. My nieces and nephews seem to be ignored by their parents once they are all together or they seem to expect my children to look after them.

As for the behaviour of other peoples children, I guess it depends where you are to how disruptive you expect other people to be to your meal!

Please don't let this thread get to 6 pages or it'll start #Trending or, heaven forbid, Farage will have a new bandwagon (that's like a caravan, but with music) to jump on...

"They are just kids" is an expression that I do hear occasionally when someone raises concern about ill behaved kids to their parents. Until one day I heard a man bellow from the far end " all other kids are raised by their parents to conduct themselves well but not yours love". There was total silence, you could hear Farage zip his fly a mile off. Then people in the restaurant began to clap and cheer,

No surprise that the lady, her family and the brats departed real quick. No surprise there was offers to buy that man a drink.

I find adults more annoying....

When you go to the bar, at least have a clue what you want

In Fareham today...

Couple at bar want to order food..............

Customer: "Can I have a scampi and chips for table 14"

Bar staff: "That will be £6.95"

Customer turns to partner: "What does John want?"

Partner: " I don't know - I'll go and ask"

Pause whilst partner walks across to other side of pub and asks John....

Partner: " Jonhn will have the steak"

Customer: "What about Ethel?"

Partner: " I don't know - I'll go and ask"

Pause whilst partner walks across to other side of pub and asks Ethel....

.. and so it went for each of the twelve persons in the group

Which took some ten minutes of the bar staff's time!

Then the bar staff were stupid enoug to ask about drinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Customer turns to partner: "What does John want?"

Partner: " I don't know - I'll go and ask"

Pause whilst partner walks across to other side of pub and asks John....

Partner: " Jonhn will have a pint of Doom Bar"

Customer: "What about Ethel?"

Partner: " I don't know - I'll go and ask"

Pause whilst partner walks across to other side of pub and asks Ethel....

Partner " Ethel will have gin and tonic"

.. and so it went for each of the twelve persons in the group

A total of eighteen minutes to take the order, why not just have the conversation at the table, write it down and then order in less than two minutes?
