Some places.....I suspect I'd get the cup of tea for £3.50 in London

That's not 'black burnt fat' ....that's flavour!You can certainly tell it's a fully unreconstructed example - the clues are the little flecks of black burnt fat all over everything, and the 'toast' that is raw bread over a third of its surface. £3.50? You were robbed.
I was up Chorley Old Road today, I know where I'll be calling in next time I'm there.I needed to go to Bolton this morning and had a spare hour so I went to a fully unreconstructed greasy spoon....The Butty Box, Chorley Old Road
2 x bacon, 2 x sausage, 2 x egg, 2 x toast, beans (no ramekin), mushrooms, tomatoes, cup of tea

All for.....are you ready for this........
£3.50
I love greasy spoons
It's probably advisable to go have booked a consultation with a cardiologist after "The Full Monty".Really good spot. Massive portions, great staff, fresh grub. Much better than OP snap, which looks at very best “almost edible”.
I'm getting indigestion just looking at the photo!OK, so in London £3.50 would not get you a tea.
However for £1 more, at zero dark thirty, you can get this.

I still miss 'Dunnies' (officially the 'Wharfe View Cafe') in Otley
It was literally yards from the River Wharfe, & in summer, you'd have to queue to even sit outside
Heck!, on nice winter days, I've waited for an outside table

@DCLane , @NorthernDave. @Old jon will have known it
It used to be a regular stopping point, but not the place to over-face yourself, unless you were following the valley roads, as heading out up through Farnley, towards Norwood Edge ("Norrud") & the 'Golfballs' at Menwith Hill, or East Chevin, or Carr Bank (towards the 'Spite' pub) all would result in a return of the meal
It was here, where the blue hoardings are; http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4705977
The menu
Plus, if you wanted it, there was 'free' bread & butter too
Not sure of date

My old Discovery there (must have been a family trip out that time?)

Also;
Not that far from me, there's the RedBeck, on the Doncaster Road (about 4 miles south-east of the centre of Wakefield)
It's historically a transport café, but has tried to go a bit upmarket
I'm not sure about now, but for a lot of years, there wasn't even a lock on the (main public) doors!

There was a sister café. over near Howden, at Boothferry Bridge, but that closed due to decreasing trade
It was on the old route/bridge over the Ouse, which was literally superceded, when the M62 crossed over it (between junctions 37 & 38)
Question
Is the Motorman(?) still in business, up on the A62, west of Marsden?

This is not far from me and actually only 5 mins from where I used to live, but I don't get over there much mowadays, yet funnily enough I crossed Chorley Old Road last Sunday at this exact spot, and when closed it actually looks like it's shut down. This assumption struck me as a shame as I've a fair few brekkies from here over the years and it was always a decent gaff, glad to hear it's still going and serving good grubI needed to go to Bolton this morning and had a spare hour so I went to a fully unreconstructed greasy spoon....The Butty Box, Chorley Old Road
