In Praise of The Original Album Series

Recently fell across this series of boxed sets through Amazon:

I took receipt of the Orbital set at the weekend, so what next, Jesus and Mary Chain or Everything but the Girl, or even Aztec Camera? Decisions eh?

Wide ranging collection, there must be something for everyone over the age of thirty in there somewhere.

Now if they had them in vinyl for that price I'd be happy. I've given up buying CDs.

Never had you down as a snob

I have fairly reasonable record collection (Including everything released by The Jam and a first pressing of Revolver) but nothing to play them on. Still I refuse to sell them out of sentiment.

Bought the Faith No More, Ministry and Pantera ones.
The original albums I had were sold on ebay, the boxes take up much less room on the shelf too.
There are a few more on my radar, Rory Gallagher, Dream Theatre, Montrose, Blue Oyster Cult, Anathema.

I got a Linn Sondek from the local paper small ads for about £200 fro someone who was "upgrading" to an MP3 player.

Upgrading hahahaha!

The Linn Sondek is a cool turntable, nice find Mort.

Got the Sisters of Mercy set a few weeks back - which took me back a few years. Dumped all my vinyl ages ago - if anyone wants a Voyd Valdi turntable with an Origin Live tonearm, let me know. It's clogging up space.

Just found this series on Amazon, bit more limited selectoin than the OAS, but 8 classic 50s country honky tonking LPs from Faron Young for £8 - who could fail not to think it's a great deal.
