The 901 I recently got was £1200 and added £35 a year to the home insurance. Named items over £1000.
I asked and was told it is new for old up to a certain point, as they said they won't give me £1200 for a 20 year bike. Need to find out more and get some definite answers on that really.
That is exactly my issue, a 20 year old bike costs just as much to replace as one straight from the showroom.
A top of the range bike does not depreciate much.
Taking Bromptons as an example; a new one is just under a grand before extras.
One that was a year old would be about £900
A 20 year old one in good nick would be £700.
