Hearing those Brazillian Portuguese ones reminds me of "feeding the donkey sponge cake", the literal translation of a Portuguese idiom for giving someone undeservedly good treatment.

A claat 'ead (second word pronounced ee-ad) is a stupid person (literally cloth head).
My gran used Yorkshire dialect a lot and my mum still does a bit. So we get aboon instead of above, allus instead of always and doy as an alternative to lad.

I get some strange looks when I finish off sentences with " and die in Caergwrle" down here in London.
In the NE Wales area usually one person will use " we can live in Hope" in its true meaning and the person they talk to will finish with "aye, and die in Caergwrle "

Another one I came across when working dawn sarth, was "to have gone tits up" which strangely no one has yet mentioned. Quite common as well from what I understood!
