If you're not aware there's another recent thread here
https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/best-4-season-sleeping-bag.289098/

Cheers, yes, I read that and a couple of others but their criteria was quite different, for a start I am lucky enough to have more than £100 to spend

These look like they might do the job, next step is trying to find proper reviews (including durability & packsize). Would prfer to check instore to make sure they fit & match my mat where applicable

https://ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/corus-32-down-quilt/ - strong contender

https://ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/helium-gt-250-down-sleeping-bag/ - probably a bit too cold
https://ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/ascent-300-down-sleeping-bag/ - getting toward weight limit

That specific model I can't say but I have no complaints with the quality of mine. Also, the company offers "refurbishing" of older bags as well as customisation of bags.

It looks like it will be well above the OP's budget - price quoted in ex VAT. It's showing €349 in my Euro denominated browser.
It also exceeds the 1 kg limit.
Packsize is something to look at. At times, I don't bother with a stuff sack and just stuff the bag into the pannier to make better use of space. The material is tough enough for it.

Touch on the heavy side - over 1kg according to the web site - but pack size looks ok

It is.
Compare it to the first one on your list and it has twice the weight of down!

Bum, put the wrong quilt on, meant to be this one

Quilts are interesting..... but I know little about them.
That one looks good from a spec point of view but it'll be a very cold day in Hell before I buy Thermarest again. Not especially because of their products although my most recent purchase didn't last, but because of some absolutely terrible customer service.

The thing, I imagine with a quilt is that you need a good mat underneath you. And probably some kind of liner for comfort.
Depending on the tent, I'd wonder what it would be like on a windy night. In a sleeping bag set up no draught is going to get in.

Just a suggestion - get a normal lightweight bag and add a heavy duty survival bivvy when needed ? I’ve got one packed away so can’t remember name but for a short holiday it’s right for me - may not suit your needs🤷‍♂️

My thoughts are that I can sleep in my down jacket if needed. As well as use it around camp or first and last hours on the bike.

All depends upon where you are going to use it ,time of year etc. Save money and freeze or buy a bag that will keep you warm ,a full length zip will turn a sleeping bag into a quilt if you are too hot.
