Wednesday is really the cut-off, although I always assume I'll get about 5 no-shows who don't bother contacting me, or who ring me to cancel at 8pm on Friday.
So I always tell the half way stop and destination a slightly smaller number than have actually registered, which surprisingly, currently stands at 69.

Here's a picture of my bike outside the National Theatre coffee bar.

I'll probably go for a pre ride sharpener at Paddington before heading over, if you fancy it.
I know a pub.....

70 riders now signed up, including 19 first timers. And it's not even a full moon. There are some right comedians, judging by the non medical comments some have put on the medical section of the sign-up form!

Here's another list for those lovers of lists (is there a word for that?)

Towards...I take it you're not riding all the way?
In the days when I used to sail a lot I was usually responsible for the log. On starting a new page for a passage the log was pre-printed with "From" and "To".

The first thing I always did was to add "wards" after the "To'. On a boat, nothing is ever completely in your control. A bit like cycling.

Pretty safe bet I'd say- neither halfway nor the airport is a hotbed of cycle theft & there will be people keeping an eye on them.

I never leave my bike without locking it. Someone on here had their bike stolen at a tea stop on an audax, I seem to remember, which was also not 'a hotbed of cycle theft' and full of people allegedly 'keeping an eye' on all the bikes. If weight is such a big issue that you can't carry a lock, I'm sure someone will let you lock your bike to theirs.

Thanks both - I'd rather not lug my cable lock (the padlock is ridiculously heavy), but was curious whether the stops were 'private' places where my bike would be next to me. Weighing up the pros and cons, I'll bring my lock, given that my last bike was nicked less than 6 weeks ago.
