So on to the mudgaurds.

I decided I wanted something subtle and only a little bit different.

I started with a strip of aluminium and ran it through the bead roller

This puts a nice ridge down the centre of the strip

Then, using a steel tube and a "slapper" ( actually a modified piece of a car leaf spring) I put a curve into the strip

To put a curve into the strips the edges were pinched with a shrinker

Once I was happy with the curvature I trimmed the edges to make the mudgaurd the right width

And then. Well, then I looked at the amount of work I'd need to do to smooth out the aluminium after the shaping. Then I threw them in the bin! Lol

For the next try I cut the strips the width I wanted the mudgaurd to be. I ran it through the bead roller as before. Instead of shrinking the edges, this time I just carefully eased them into a curve. Working the strip round a metal bin edge I got the shape I needed.

I made a bracket to fix the mudgaurd to the brake bolt.

I like using round head solid rivits. First they are cut to the right length then squeezed in to place with this

The rear was made in the same way.
I made a fixing bracket as with the front. I'm also fixing the bottom of the gaurd to the frame down by the bottom bracket. There's a small tube connecting the rear stays. Usually there is a small hole in this tube but for some reason on my frame there is no hole. I need this hole for the bolt holding the mudgaurd. So now I need to remove the rear wheel so I can drill a fixing hole.

I'm the meantime I've polished the mudgaurds and sprayed them with scratch resistant clear coat. This means I won't need to be constantly polishing them. This time I mixed the clear coat properly with fresh chemicals! Lol

Not sure what you mean by "proper gaurds" ?
