Found it, they're on the same page and are likely to be easily confused by me.

OK, how about a picture of a Goosander (and I'll say - my what a lovely merganser)?

Why can't owl's fly in the rain?

they need one wing to hold the umbrella.

not just owls, hawks too... dunno! could be to do with their eyesight - they see movement rather than colours, etc. so the rain might confuse them... or their feathers - birds of prey don't have a form of waterproofing, their feathers are looser, so they'd get very wet and cold.

maybe they just don't like rain.

What are those ducks called with the horrible red giblets on their face and have you a pic? Can't look it up as I'm at work and my bird book is at home.
 
According to yon falconer at the display I went too, Owl's have no waterproofing at all in their feathers, hawks do but I don't know how much.

That and of course the umbrella business....

Edit: The lack of waterproofing is one of the things that make their flight silent compared to other birds.
