He was a favourite with us when growing up too. RIP.

Apparently they got pensioners to open the mailbags for the gallery and it was they who decided who went on the gallery, all for the price of tea and biccies.

Did anyone get a picture shown on telly? My butterfly never made it.

He didn't invent Morph though, that was Aardman animation:

That's so sad. I loved Morph.

Tony Hart has died, not Morph.

I got on Take Hart once! A Kandinsky-esque explosion of geometric confusion. I thought it was just a load of coloured boxes at the time though.

Used to love it when Morph used a pencil to pole vault over stuff.

He had an assistant at one time who signed for the deaf is she still around? And what about Mr. Bennet?

Very sad news indeed. His artwork was great and I loved the gentle way he came across on screen.

I always thought he was a bit 'strange' in a middle class officer-type patronising kind of way, but I liked Mr Bennett so usually watched the show. Never liked Morph at all, I always wanted someone to squash him and stick a pencil in his head.

Still, strange as I thought he was, it's sad to hear of his death.
