Ok, see you nice folks in loughborough.
I am in Oakham, well in a small village outside of Oakham.

Oh yes. I first saw it when Olafur Eliasson's Weather Project was there. Breathtaking.First sight of the turbine hall at Tate Modern is pretty awesome.
I'm glad you put this in a spoiler, I'd have felt a right tit looking at it at work.
I think a lot of the problem is people rushing these things on fixed travel agent timetables. We drove ourselves round the USA with no fixed itinerary so could stop and stay where we liked.Yep, totally agree. We spent one night on the north rim and then a 200 mile drive to the south rim which I thought was a bit better.
What I did find overwhelming was Bryce Canyon. When I got off the bus I just stood there gobsmacked.
Are you sure about Ankor Wat? Any filming that is done these days has to be completed at dawn, because soon after it looks like this.I did a lot of traveling in my "youth" (lucky twat !) A couple of places stick with me,which i would like to return Ankor Wat and the Indian city of Varanassi.
Maybe its better to remember as it was then, went in my early 20s and im hitting 50 next year !! Phi phi was finished once Scaramanga took residence there !Are you sure about Ankor Wat? Any filming that is done these days has to be completed at dawn, because soon after it looks like this.

A place that underwhelmed me was Phi Phi Island, overcrowded, ankle deep in cigarette butts and a sewerage system that clearly wasn't coping.
I would love to see Ankor Wat, but it may be too late.Maybe its better to remember as it was then, went in my early 20s and im hitting 50 next year !! Phi phi was finished once Scaramanga took residence there !
At least theres no chance of Varanasi changing....
The Terracotta Army were more like a theme park to me,you could buy lifesize replica ones outside ! There again i remember being so hungover in Xian when catching a bus too see them !Some of the Terracotta Army are coming to Liverpool Museum next year![]()
Me too. I got vertigo on the way back down.Overwhelming:
Chichén Itzá in the Yucatan, Mexico. The Temple of Kukulcan aka El Castillo (or the huge pyramid at the heart of the site) was something else, and we were lucky enough to visit shortly before tourists were banned from climbing it.
But what impressed me most were the Temple of the Warriors and the Wall of the Skulls. Stunning, but macabre.
