Cool, grey and blustery here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept far better than the previous night, but not brilliantly. Still bloated, but no longer at Aunt Marge levels. Am sort of wondering whether something I've eaten might have upset my digestive tract, as I'm now farting for England. Much to the cats' consternation.

Mum is the gift that keeps on giving this week. She likes to putter about in the garden, and she's been doing a bit of weeding. But I'm now minus a job lot of strawberry plants (proper strawberries, not the alpine ones) and a large patch of parsley after "weeding" where I specifically told her not to. I love her dearly, but aaaaaaargh! :banghead:

To quote Babylon 5, the universe is having FAR too much fun at my expense.

Anyways, it is time for luncheon.

Pleasant 3 mile walk with the dog before a short snooze on the settee..
Picked the remaining Pak Choi, which will be with dinner this evening, then sowed some Chard seeds for picking later in the year.

Unnamed man denies it happened. Unnamed parents maintain unnamed BBC presenter did it. I'd look at what this smokescreen story is covering up for.

There's definitely a stench hanging around this.

And what does the Sun gain from potentially poor / unwise reporting? At a time where newspaper readership is declining rapidly, a story of this kind boosts sales of printed copy. And as we've seen from the Mirror Group court cases in recent years, the newspaper industry doesn't exactly care much about ethics if it generates more sales.

We wouldn't be Human, either, if we didn't enjoy a good scandal involving sexual peccadillos.

But the Carl Beech case shows us the dangers of where this kind of thing can lead.

Was thinking about @oldwheels' carrots not keeping. The Tesco ones are just as bad at this time of year.

Ergo I buy canned ones.

OK, it's more spendy, but at least I'm not chucking veggies away because they've developed language skills.

At least the ones I dumped were not expensive as I did use some of them. Probably about 30p worth.
I would normally blanch and freeze them as soon as possible but there was no room left in my working freezer and not worth starting the standby one. The standby one is kept in case I get a load of mackerel tho' since I no longer have a boat that is unlikely.

Weather turned out better than expected with only a very light and brief shower. Did not get out on trike but tried my walking poles modification with some success.
This was on a very quiet and relatively unknown forest road where I had contemplated taking the trike. There is a locked gate but I think I can get round that. The main thing bothering me is that the surface is crushed rock and since there is no traffic it is not beaten into the underlying infill. This is full of sharp edges and while I do have Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres I do not want to chance my luck too much.
The main town car park is jammed with mainly cars but strangely the bit usually monopolised by wall to wall motorhomes was all cars. Perhaps somebody has been round warning them off as the notice is explicit in saying no overnight camping.
I did notice that the new cemetery had one camped there. Not sure I want my final resting place and that of my late wife to become a free camp site. Many others no doubt feel the same.
This situation has caused much anger on Harris where a cemetery car park is blocked by mainly motorhomes.
