Morning, rain still sub-biblical but there's thunder and lightning planned for later. Actually, it's stopped raining for the moment while it regathers its strength.

In more water news, it's my birthday so I'm having a bath.

Rain from 11 said Google. Mission accomplished by 1035 using the ebike to dispose of used coffee pods in Asda and purchase marmalade, Waitrose for free store pape, cheap milk and they had Freefrom Penguins (Aussie TimTams) and the delayed Aldi shop from last evening. Snag was the rain arrived at 1015 so it was one very soggy T shirt and increasingly damp jeans that I arrived back home wearing.

I think a Sunday ride, instead of travelling, is out of the question. 😂

Eye hospital visit done and the next visit is to somewhere else for a bit more invasive investigation. Then probably an unpleasant operation.

As I was a bit incapacitated SWMBO insisted on going somewhere to buy kitchen paint and replacement plug sockets for the kitchen, and I was in no fit state to argue. Is that a form of spousal abuse?

Friends had a good evening last night. Both a bit subdued as they'd had a bad year and hadn't really been out. The fella had started last year with knee pain and lower leg pain. Visited A&E twice and discharged. Then he woke with what he described as prickles everywhere. A&E again, turns out leg was a DVT, and it had broken up and was in his lungs. Touch and go for a bit but he got through it. Only to find that the bloods showed his PSA was just over 3. Doc not happy so they did a biopsy (he described it as terrible). Came back as cancer. He's opted for removal, so that's late August. Options were review and monitor or out. Stage 1 fortunately. Oh and his knee is buggered, so going down injection route first. He's also been made redundant earlier in the year, secured new job, but won't get sick pay. Then if you can't get worse stuff, their daughter has moved back home after splitting with boyfriend. They have a house and a dog to decide who is having what.

Fingers crossed they enjoyed a break from reality. It's life though isn't it, sometimes you have shoot years, sometimes better.

If you are making a crumble to send to me, can you leave out the rhubarb please?

I have been told that rhubarb, grapefruit and spinach are foods I cannot eat, as they affect the medication I am taking. Is rhubarb full of sugar? Grapefruit too acidic?
