Two whole days off work, and it is windy and rain again.

I had originally planned a wee cycling break for this long weekend, but I cancelled the accommodation at the last minute as the weather forecast is horrible, and even worse in the midlands where I'd have been going.

Still, at least I don't have to work. Time for a leisurely breakfast.

What is this thing "work" that you mention?
I can recommend a leisurely breakfast but no recent experience of this work.

Work is where I go to help make the shareholders richer whilst getting paid peanuts for my services.

Amazing how the usual commentators of FB can turn an article on the sad fact that 7 people were killed on the roads over the weekend into blaming cyclists and that speed cameras have made the roads more dangerous.

When will society realise that people need to take responsibility for their own driving instead of blaming someone else.

Good morning from a 12th floor hotel room in Leeds where the view is over the A58 and A58(M) and a block of apartments apparently known as The Transformer. There was a hint of sunshine earlier, but the cloud has returned.

A large cooked breakfast has been had which should see me through the day, but a croissant and a pain au chocolate have been liberated from the breakfast area just in case. Plenty of time for a rest before I take the stroll into town alongside the canal.

good storm so far. measured 8" earlier but we have more now

Oh dear, yet another van stuck under the Station Road bridge approaching Ely station. It's a rental (Sixt I think) so that'll cost the hirer. First one I've seen in person (from the train)
