... android systems have the same limit as the card you've linked to it.
I've never been asked to. I have no idea what point you are suposed to be making here? How do you expect to put your phone into the card reader?
If I remember right Apple have no payment limit, android systems have the same limit as the card you've linked to it.
Chase occasionally ask me to verify myself when making a phone payment (phone already unlocked) by using the fingerprint sensor before re-tapping the terminal to make the payment.

I rather doubt the latter. My Credit card has an £18,000 limit, and I doubt any shop would let me use my phone contactless for that much.
That is very much not true. I’ve never been blocked by the amount being used and I use it more than that really quite often. In fact I’ve used it for considerably more than that a number of times . Not once have I even been told that I cannot use that method of payment despite the vendor having that right. Most shops still have a relatively low limit - usualy £150 or £200, but still more than if using teh physical card contactless.
Another reason for using your phone. There is no limit on that (or if there is, I haven't reached it yet).
Andy, you can still buy a bus ticket from the driver the old fashioned way, you can even use cash!Until you drop it on concrete, the battery is flat, or it just sulks.
I was surprised how easily my German card was accepted in the UK last month: the main problem was that about every fifth bus rejected it, and as they have a rather odd "tap on, tap off" system in York this immediately doubled the cost of travelling into the city from 1.50 Gbp to 3.00 Gbp...

Thanks to this thread I've at last put my bank card on Google Wallet. Not least, a useful thing if I've not got the card with me!
My new card had to be used by inputting my PIN initially rather than contactless before all services were available..
You can also add loyalty card, event tickets (cinema, theatre etc) boarding Passses. It only works if offered by the supplier but more and more do these days.
