I currently have one of these and it makes reasonable coffee but the basket thing is a bit small so the coffee always tastes a bit thin and lacking a robust body.

Krups Espresso Machine

I like it because it has a very small footprint. Obviously I'd have to negotiate more kitchen top real estate if I changed. I'd also need a decent grinder as the current one isn't fine enough for Espressos. Its fine for the Moka pot. I'd feel silly spending more on a grinder than the machine.

Sounds like you need to buy a new grinder & keep your existing coffee machine. Grind is an equally (probably more) important part in the process.
