I currently have one of these and it makes reasonable coffee but the basket thing is a bit small so the coffee always tastes a bit thin and lacking a robust body.

Krups Espresso Machine

I like it because it has a very small footprint. Obviously I'd have to negotiate more kitchen top real estate if I changed. I'd also need a decent grinder as the current one isn't fine enough for Espressos. Its fine for the Moka pot. I'd feel silly spending more on a grinder than the machine.

Sounds like you need to buy a new grinder & keep your existing coffee machine. Grind is an equally (probably more) important part in the process.

Gaggia every time.

They last for years, are a solid build, can be serviced at home, and can be modified to make them even better should you wish to.

The change to 9 bar is a simple spring replacement, takes five minutes.

Your grinder is just as important as your coffee machine if not more, and good quality fresh beans from an independent roasters will beat anything you can get in a supermarket.

I got my 2004 Gaggia secondhand for a bargain £125 a few years ago, and then paid £240 for a Eureka Manuale grinder.

There's a bloke who sells them based in Nottingham, Home Baristta UK, he's a good guy to speak to.

I used to have a Delongi bean to cup before it and it can't compete with a proper manual machine.

Will see if the price moves in the Prime sale, as I've got a month's free Prime at the moment.

Think there's a pretty good chance. Price has been constant at 299 for last 2 years apart from the same 20 quid drops on Black Friday and Prime Day.
