Best way to remove them around here is to put a sale sign on them. They then get clamped then impounded
Is that not allowed then? Loads of cars around here with "for sale" in their windows, including some nobbers parking on visibility splays (meaning explained in https://www.cyclechat.net/posts/5406129 ). https://www.saga.co.uk/magazine/motoring/cars/selling/selling-cars-on-public-road suggests it's not an offence outside of London unless a business is doing it.

Local council are the ones to report that to. Two or more within 500 metres is illegal under the Highways Act.

Apart from anything else, I think it is sad sign of the throw-away, wasteful society in which we live in that what looks like a car that was originally in decent enough condition and probably only needed a little TLC to give a few more years of motoring would be dumped and abandoned by it's owner

True.... back in the 70's & 80's, cars of this condition would never be dumped. There would be many more years of life in them, occasionally being repaired with parts from a scrap yard.

We have a county councillor and his wife who both park their cars on the pavement at the end of our road. We know because both cars have personalised plates. The husband takes the train to Manchester and the wife has a chiropody clinic opposite on the main road. They live about 1 km away!

Time for some picture posters and postcards in their constituency around election time?

Although in some places, people might think short hop driving, lawbreaking (to drive on/off) and parking like a daffodil makes them a man of the people

For over a week now there has been a slight obstacle on the cycle path on Madingley Hill

View attachment 433376

There is police aware tape on it.
I contacted them on Monday to ask when they could be bothered to move it

‘It’s the councils responsibility ‘

So I did the online form at Cambs CC only to get an email an hour later saying the matter is closed!

It’s still there this morning.

Welcome to Cambridge.

The yoof have started to do their work on it....
Report it as having no VED, or MOT. Both expired in 2014, September & November.
