The longest word in the English language has 189,819 letters. Methionylthreonylthreonylglutaminylarginyl…isoleucine is the chemical name of the largest known protein titin. Lexicographers have argued however that chemical compounds should not count.

The largest non-technical word is antidisestablishmentarianism, with a mere 28 letters.

Mince pies were invented (accidentally) in 1907 by the Trebor Mint Co. The original idea was to increase sales of MINTS but due to a typo error the result was MINCE pies.
BTW.....one of the founders was named Robert Robertson. Robert backwards = Trebor.

Dictionarywordbookextraordinairevolumebooktome is actually thr longest word in the dictionary. However, since it is on the cover and nkt actually in the book then it has been deemed by the Smartarse Professor of Nitpicking at Cambridge University not to count.

Mothecare was founded in 1933 by Josef Muttercare. The original branch in Berlin was set up as a purveyor of Hitler Youth uniform, and brown shirts for older children.

Following the war Major Hirst of the Royal Engineers was given the task of rebuilding the store, but he became obsessed with adding motors to toy kunelwagen and selling them. The retail side was spun off and bought by Robert Maxwell as a gift for his secret lover, Rupert Murdoch.

Under Murdoch the store thrived and eventually expanded into a europe wide chain. However, following Maxwell's death during an unfortunate incident with one wafer thin mint too many, he lost interest and the business slowly regenerated.

The average person farts, on average, 14 times per day. The volume of a day's worth of farts for one person is about half a litre. So an average fart has a volume of 35.7 cubic centimetres.

It has been estimated that the emission speed of a fart is 3 metres per second. If that is true, then the momentum imparted by a fart is 0.00012 kg m/sec, and the kinetic energy would be 0.00018 Joules.

The fact that people living to the East of you check the forecast each night for wind direction tells much. ^_^

It is a recorded fact that a certain Mr Drago only farts once a day.
Unfortunately the farts last, on average, 23 hours and contain 4 Ltrs volume. They also reach speeds of 86 mtrs per second.

He thinking of trying for the gas powered land speed record. Bloodhound who can smell a fart consulting of 1 part in a trillion methane is not impressed.

Terry McCann, from Minder, invented the process of canning perishable food products such as soup and baked beans. McCann’s original canning factory was located in the dockland in East London, the area now known as Canning Town.

McCann later sold the rights to his canning empire to country singer Glen Campbell, who made his fortune from condensed soup. Campbell’s song “Galveston” was a tribute to the galvanising process used in manufacturing the first generation cans.
