Amsterdam is named for an event in the city's past. Previously it had been known as Clogtown, until one day the dyke that protects the city from the Indian Ocean sprang a leak. In a panic one of the residents plugged the leak with his pet hamster, and all was saved. The town then became known as hamster-dam, and over time became Amsterdam.

The remains of this heroic hamster can still be seen at a local museum, although only his mouth parts survived

Hence the song "Two Lips from Hamster Dam"

My grandma (on my mother's side) didn't have 61 first cousins. She had 53. The other eight were in fact her brothers & sisters!

Ooops! Schoolboy error on the counting up...

Joseph Stalin put an assassination order out on John Wayne. This was in response to a message from traveller from the future. Unfortunately the message got garbled in the worm hole and should have said Ronald Reagan is the future president of USA.

Josef Stalin is in fact how John Wayne is pronounced in Russian.

John Waynes nickname, The Duke, was got from his Airedale Terrier.

Unfortunatly the head of Fox Studios was a fan of Revolutionary WarGeneral Anthony Wayne, so Morrison’s surname was quickly settled.

One mickey is the smallest resolvable unit of distance by a given computer mouse pointing device. It is named after Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse cartoon character. Mouse motion is reported in horizontal and vertical mickeys. Device sensitivity is usually specified in mickeys per inch. Typical resolution is 500 mickeys per inch (16 mickeys per mm), but resolutions up to 16,000 mickeys per inch are available.
