Did anyone else see the ‘Wheeler Dealers’ episode a few nights ago, with the Cortina P100?

Laying aside any personal view on Mike Brewer, this is where he got it from
What a collection!

Unusually for me I missed that WD episode.
A couple of years back that very dealer had a lovely Honda 250RS that I missed out on by a couple of hours.
Nice looking collection. 👍👍👍

XR8s!!
I’ve seen one ‘self-build’, in a Cosworth style
It looked just like standard Cosworth, barring ‘302’ decals at the bottom of the doors

XR8 is a new one on me.
I like the VW Fastback……..my dad had one…….quirky, nippy and quite roomy
Official builds out there, I seem to recall them featuring in 'Car' (or maybe 'Autocar', 'Motor'?) of the time, & them being impressed by them
I guess it was before we got the Cosworth-Sierra??? (& as a 4-door, more practical, if not as 'sporty')
Although, the thought of a 'wagon' XR8 is quite intriguing!!! :okay:

As mentioned above, this is the 'self-build'

My best pal bought a Sierra Cosworth in or around 1991. It was a beast of a car.
His £1100 car insurance bill wasn’t so attractive, but he didn’t care. In contrast I was driving a 1300 beetle at the time.

Lovely. In 1978, on finishing my education, I picked up a Singer Vogue saloon version of the Hunter. Lovely wood dashboard and trimmings, with 1725cc engine. My dad was a car lover and had a Hunter too.
I saw similar this summer at a car show on the Welsh borders. Just 38k on the clock, and, if I recall, one previous owner

I owned the couple version many years ago. It was fast, comfortable and quiet as I recall. It had a petrol-fuelled auxiliary heater. The reason so few of these still exist is that the heater pipes ran through the sills - the insulation around the pipes got soaked with water and the inevitable happened.
