Raised to the ground, has always baffled me, did it come from below ground? no, it collapsed, fell down, there was no raising involved.

But is that an awfully good oxymoron? or even an oxymoron.

Pan fried..
What else are you going to fry it in?
isn't that a tautology, not an oxymoron?

With a pair of slacks and a smart blazer, one can be unwelcome everywhere.
Blimey, it's a long time since I heard trousers being referred to as 'slacks'.
In fact I was in my early teens when my mother marched me into the local gents outfitters and asked for some trousers for me, only for the assistant to tell her what I needed was a pair of slacks.

It would be, if it were the only way of frying things.

But your fish & chips from the local chippy is "fried" but not "pan-fried".
"Pan fried" means using a frying pan, rather than a deep-fat fryer.

One that always annoys me is football commentators saying "saved by the woodwork" when a shot hits the post or crossbar. No, what "saved" the defence was that the shot wasn't quite on target. Hitting the post isn't what stopped it going in.
