Is it a Tricross?

Yes, it's a Tricross. It coped really well with the weight. Even though I was carrying camping gear I was travelling fairly light. It's the first tour I've done on this bike and I was really pleased with it's performance compared to touring on a mountain bike in the past.

Fantastic photos......great composition and lovely scenery. Like it.

Thanks, they're just taken with a slightly aging Canon compact digital. It does take nice pics though, and the blues in particular come out nicely. I may at some point in the future invest in an SLR, but then the only problem is the size, it's quite nice to have a compact camera in your back pocket and whip it out while cycling.

I've uploaded a few pics from my trip to the Hebrides if anyone would like a look:

I've just uploaded the best 20 or so, I'm sure some of you will be familiar with some of these places! I met a lot of cyclists in the Gatliff hostels and it was great to sit there all evening swapping tales.
I cycled from Barra to Stonoway in June this year, picked the wrong week and suffered very high winds, rain, sleet. one day. but the route up from Tarbert up the Cliseam, road to Stornoway was no where near as bad as people had told me.
But for sure, a ride woth doing.

Nice blog and pics.

I also had some pretty severe weather in the first of the two weeks because of that huricane over in America!

I just took it easy for the ride up from Tarbet, the toughest part was the road to Reinigeadal, but well worth it!

Yes I've ridden that. My blog entry says...

Making my way out of Tarbert in big gritty slow motion movements I espied a dirty big hill which only added to my joy. My only hope was that it's sheer looking face would harbour me from the wind

:smile:Got up it though

I gave Reinigeadal a miss, as I had planned my route on Memory Map, and had looked at the profile for the road there and decided that it could be a hard ride at the end of the day.
Hence I stopped short of Tarbert, and camped at the site at Ceann-na-Cleithe (NG175941). and for sure the big Breakfast at first fruit tearoom, made up for it.
