just bought a joe blow pump thinking buying once.
am i doing something wrong - i can't get the nozzle to lock onto the presta valve, when i swing the locking handle into the opp direction?????
no insructions with it and i have never used one before

HELP!!!!!

+1 for the track pump, I HATED pumping up tyres till I got my Joe Blow.

You have to start with it as far down as it will go, then swing it to as far up as it goes.

Andrew - should it lock into position?

i'm pushing the nozzle quite firmly onto the presta and yet it still doesn't lock out???

HELP!!!!!

Get a little brass adapter from ebay or Amazon for about a quid. Pops into the pump and screws onto the presta valve.

Defy One. Have you unscrewed the little end bit of the valve down to its bottom position?

yes the little nipple on the valve is unscrewed but no locking. will try it again now, otherwise take it back to Halfords and ask them to show me how. could be a faulty pump

As I said, go to Amazon or Ebay, put in presta adapter, they are a couple of quid at most. And your pump will be much easier to use.

If nothing else it is VERY satisfying to be told that a bit of kit you've been struggling with is FUBAR and it's not just ones terrible ineptitude causing the problem.

It was fubared!
I thought i was going mad :rolleyes::confused:
Problem solved - tyres pumped up to 110 psi ...... Once my son dropped to his PROM - i feel a ride coming on :becool:

Are you using the right side of the connecter. my one does both types of valve.
