Hi
Heard the dreaded hiss of doom on Saturday but as luck would have it i was literally 40 yards from my front door. When i stopped i quickly found the source of the hissing an odd bit of damage, a small (1-2mm) but pretty obvious divot out of the tyre (Specialised Armadillo) had been sort of dug out (sorry should have taken a picutre).

Anyway the air loss was so small that by the time i had got the bike into the back garden had a drink etc i needed to deflate it to effect a repair.

The odd thing (and maybe its not that odd but ive only had 3 punctures in these tyres in around 800 miles of cycling) is that the inner tube was hardly marked, really couldn't detect a hole as such. Anyhow i put a patch over it, rode 40k on it yesterday no issue.

I assume the tyre is ok but clearly now not quite perfect, just wondering if people would bother to replace it at around 30 notes....

Unless the tyre carcass is damaged - you should feel a bulge at the weak spot when it's pumped up or the hole is big enough for the tube to start coming out, I would leave it.

Thanks for the reply, no sign of a bulge, the damage is pretty minimal no where near the tube starting to come out...
