In as much as all advertising is con artists. It’s no different except that for certain brands it’s incredibly effective and successful.
The majority of major brands have an influencer marketing budget. It helps reach large numbers who don’t watch tv or read magazines in the way we did 10 years ago. You want to sell your product to under 25s? Then it’s social media and influencers.
If you thinks it doesn’t work because you don’t like it, that’s your problem but you’d be wrong. It does work. Really well. It’s just you’re not their target market.
