No, I thought it looked like a young Frank Sinatra, even though I knew it wasn't Frank Sinatra. It's not Frank Sinatra but someone else. The Facebook page was about this 'someone else'. I posted in the page's comments section that I thought it looked like Frank Sinatra, with quite a few agreeing with me. I'll wait and see if anyone on CC can guess who it really is!

It does i deed to be his mugshot. Taken when he was arrested, aged 23, in 1938.
The charge was dropped.

Well its not slow from our perspective.

On a cosmic scale it is barely moving at all.
Just over 8 minutes to get from the sun to here.
100000 years to cross our galaxy. And ours is nowhere near any other galaxies and is not even comparable is size to a really large galaxy. 46 billion years to cross the observable universe.
So yes, compared to the vastness of even what we can observe it is slow.

You take at least 3 points on the Earth, preferably more and preferably far apart, then you measure the angle of the sun in the sky at the same time. A bit of maths later and you get not only the distance to the sun but also the size of the Earth.

No - its not valid unless you do it with a proper tape measure

• Not in the books: In the original Edgar Rice Burroughs novels, Tarzan's animal companion was a small monkey named Nkima, not a chimpanzee named Cheeta.

• Hollywood creation: The chimp character first appeared in the 1932 movie Tarzan the Ape Man starring Johnny Weissmuller
• They needed a catchy name.....hence Cheeta was created (it became Cheetah later).
