Silly question... but where are you crashing? (Dont say into the ground!)

Is it mostly take off, landing, general flying or manouvering?
Could be into another plane in the air.

Or @Cycleops, had a model shop at one point.
Yes, I ran the Chelmsford branch of Hobby stores for a while.
I was huffing and puffing up Holme Moss (one of the toughest climbs in the area) last week and I saw a large bird soaring near the top (about 1700ft up). "Wow" thought I...obviously not a buzzard, way too big. all it could be was a very stray Golden Eagle or something even more exotic

RC Glider

Looked good though, using the updrafts from the escarpments
This is what I really love. Very satisfying and relaxing. I used to travel to Ivinghoe Beacon on the Bucks/Herts/Beds border. Great place for a day out.

No powered flight allowed. Flying possible with most wind directs but the West is best (shown above).
My particular interest was Power Scale Soaring, in other words unpowered models of powered prototypes. I had a P40, Tucano, Kawasaki Hien and others.

You've mentioned it for the cars and tanks. Wasn't certain if that included planes though.

Has it been flown and trimmed by an experienced rc pilot?

Learning on one thats out of trim, and balance, is a going to be difficult at best.
Not flown but yes ive learnt the trim and balance thing from a friend that flies and was with me and the plane over the last few days .

Pretty much done it all apart from Helis. The modern li-po battery with brushless motors makes life so easy now. I miss it and maybe get back into it one day. If anyone selling a set up let me know.

If your friend has the same make transmitter as you some makes (I know Futaba do) have a 'buddy box' feature which means you can switch control between the two of you.

A small selection of my RC slope soarers. I've got the same number of electric RC planes in the garage.;)
Slope soaring is my first passion.
As a BMFA instructor and Examiner, I would advise anyone to join a club and learn from an experienced flyer. It's cheaper in the long run!
