When i started cycling again in the mid 90's i bought a mountain bike because it seemed a safe machine and it was needed to get to work travelling along a canal path which i didn't fancy on a road bike. When i cycled on the road and encountered roadies i thought they were a bit snobby because they didn't acknowledge me as they easily overtook me or passed on the other side. So now as a roadie i acknowledge all cyclists(apart from chavs as posted previously)but sometimes mountain bikers don't wave back. Maybe they think that i'm a snobby so and so?!
