I've not had any problems with any I've bought, but a s/h Brompton came with a Marathon that had a kinked bead. Might have been mistreated.

I still prefer Schwalbe to Conti, having binned a pair of UltraHamsterSkins after a fortnight and several punctures. They are absolute glass magnets.
