I bought my Dawes back in 1945 It was a Dawes Clansman.The seat tube had a tartan transfer on the seat down tube No idea what the tubing was.
Wheels were twenty seven by inch and a half
Gears Benelux three speed Think the cottered chain wheel was 42 teeth Breaks were Weimen I believe
This was the bike that took me on the local CTC club runs I road our local clubs twenty five time trial in one hour eight minutes
This bike was my commuter paper round bike Rough stuff bike Camping bike Took me down the local tow path on fishing trips
I kook at my 11 speed Ultegra geared. bike my Giant aluminium framed Campagnolo 9 speed
bike and wonder how did I get so much out of one bike I will admit to lusting after a Dawes Galaxy.

Hadn’t riden this much for a while but is now back front and centre for jaunts around town, still great to ride
