Which reminds me... Singapore noodles...

You can use a pack of instant noodles or a nest or two of egg noodles.

Cook as per instructions, but add half a veg or chicken stock cube if using dried egg noodles. Add a teaspoon of curry powder, a dash of turmeric, chilli flakes to taste, plus some chinese five spice. When noodles are cooked, stir through a paste made from a couple of heaped teaspoons of cornflour and a splash of water and simmer till thickened.

Then chuck in any cooked shredded meat (or prawns) and leftover veg that you might have knocking around.

One of my simple favourites is a fish finger sandwich made with lightly toasted granary bread with lashings of tartare sauce, lovely!

not a big fan of fried bread so i tend to avoid it at home. Less chance of burning the house down.

My favourite simple meal is poached eggs on toast with a sprinkle of paprika. I ate it religiously before hockey each week.

I'm quite partial to poached egg on toast after a bike ride. Crack an egg into a cup of hot water, 60 seconds in the microwave and it's done and no mess.
