As per usual, all readied well in advance (when it's a case of leave work-get on train-ride, not really an option for anything else). Most of the gear is stashed at work, bike checked over. I'll almost certainly be on the 2208 train (arrives Waterloo 2323) as making the 2138 when work finishes at half nine is Im Possible and I doubt I'll make any time let alone the four or five minutes I'd need. Might just know the way to the South Bank

Do i need to walk down a set of stairs to get to the meeting point?? and is there anyone passing through Liverpool street station that wants to make the journey to the meeting point together to save me the hassle of mapping?

@User is, as usual, right (although not, of course, as right as TC, who (I'd like it stated for the record) is more right than anyone else, all of the time)

Here's a Google maps route:

and if you wanted to get clever and avoid roads south of London Bridge, here's a route along the river:

see you there, i'll be easy to spot as I'll be the fat old bloke at the back.

Victoria was just so cool. Get on train, get off train. Stay dry, stay warm.

Whereas now the plan was to go to LBG and change (platform 12 to 9 now with more descent and ascent than the whole ride to Southend) to Waterloo East. But now I see this: The lift between London Waterloo and Waterloo East is out of service. If you require the lift, please speak to a member of staff for assistance.

Are they going to carry my bike down the 24 flights of stairs or just chuck it out of the nearest window? Do i want to find out - or rock up to Vic/12 and do the magical mystery tour around HPC, BP & BB? Decisions, decisions ...

Take your bike on the very short escalator down into Waterloo?

Or come out of Victoria, down Victoria St, round a bit of Parliament Sq, over Westminster Bridge, turn left after the hotel (it's probably changed it's name), follow Belvedere Road to the National and turn left.

I've always used the stairs when walking but that's not going to be easily done in cycling shoes carrying a bike. Mystified how a 'short' escalator can take me down the same distance drop to Waterloo Road. I'm sure its around 24 flights of stairs. Point me the way ...

See my advice to Roubaix Cube up there? Get off at LB and follow the relevant bits of that.
Thanks Ade. I know that way. That's why I don't want to do it. Stamford Street doesn't have pizzazz. Just artics.
I'm now thinking to CLJ and back to WAT. Or stay on to VIC?
At least I have choices. Too many!
