Did he not realise that the 1960s' was a decade... 10 years... Not about 30? šŸ˜†

I don’t suppose he’s that bothered as it’s earned him enough for a nice big house.

The only thing I would watch now, that I used to, is Only fools and horses. It never gets old.

I wouldn't watch anything old now. I have tried (e.g. on Youtube; Thundercats, The Mysterious Cities of Gold, Neighbours, Home and Away) and they just seem naff now. It was sort of nice in some scenes that brought back the feeling of being 8 or 9, but it only lasted a second.

Saying that, my partner has just watched the entire (old) series of Dallas

True to the title of revisiting stuff I watched as as kid / teenager - Ulysses 31 and Father Ted spring to mind

For anyone not familiar with the Ulysses 31 - look it up; a fantastic amalgam of early Anime, French storytelling and Greek mythology. Set in space. One of the few kids programs I find genuinely holds up to adult viewing decades later.

I've revisited a few other classics too - Red Dwarf, Spaced... although while excellent I have to watch the maudlin nostalgia that sometimes comes attached.

Not really childhood viewing but I tend to re-watch The Sopranos in its entirity every few years and have some more classics queued up for another visit - Twin Peaks, The Wire..

I also like a bit of old telly; The Sweeney, Inspector Morse and more recently am revisiting Homicide: Life on the Street.. but it's not stuff I really watched first time around.

I live in hope of one day being able to attend a fancy dress event as the titular character as I have similar hair and beard; albeit blond. And receding. While I'm a bit rotund..

And hope you are recognised!

I was very young when it was on, so I don't actually remember a lot about it, but I'd certainly re - watch it now after what you said above about it!

Yeah, I suspect the chances of that are fairly minimal given that it's evidently a bit niche compared to other childhood classics.

I'd urge you to re-watch it - IIRC some years ago someone had remastered all of the episodes and uploaded them to Youtube - not sure if they're still on there bit it's worth a look

I think it would depend on the age range of the group you were in, I bet you could start singing the theme tune and lots of people would remember it, even if they couldnt quite picture the show it was from.
