Tarka Trail between Torrington and Braunton - ok for road bike?

Will be going down there this summer, and was thinking of cycling to Braunton from Great Torrington, and noticed the trail goes that way, but is it suitable for a road bike, or should I stick to the roads? Don't want to feel like im riding a bone shaker for a couple of hours

IMO it's fine for road bikes from watergate (1 section meeth side of Torrington) right through to Braunton.
