Well, you'll have about *googles* 33 mins between Archs' train departing northwards and the sunset. Can you make it in that time? And do you feel lucky with the rain?

I gauge it as roughly a two hour ride, and if I can make it down to Potters Bar by dark then thats the real 'boy racers on country roads' bit out of the way. I know the A1 Great North Road well, in fact I used to work in Shell petrol station @ Grey's garage on the Old Hatfield roundabout , just down from the station, many moons ago, it like I, is long gone.

As for the rain, we'll have to see, I like a challenge but I'm not bonkers!!

Hmm. You've got me thinking now, if I'm reading you right, the bit that snapped was the bit that's MEANT to fail if you get a stick caught in the wheel etc. Balance of probabilities I suppose - potholes or sticks...?

That was a second hand car place last time I went past. Probably being turned into 'Luxury Apartments' as we speak.

If you go down the B197 through Knebworth and things, that's the way I cycle to work. For the next week...

Has anyone got a clean chisel. I have a small tub of Hagen Daz Belgian Choc Ice cream and it is difficult to get it out of the tub. I am not usually the girly weak type, but on this occasion, could someone help?

Speicher, turn the pot, lid off, upside down on a plate and carefully stab a hole in the bottom, that should get the ice cream out. Oh and let it thaw for 10 mins first!

The unseen bonus is that you will destroy the pot and so have to eat all the ice cream!!!

I do not mean to be picky, but that would thaw the whole tub. If it thaws and then I put it back in the freezer, I am going to end up with icey cream, with chunks of ice it in. I just would like to get a small portion out, should I use a hot spoon?

A hot spoon would be good, I use one for syrup so it melts and runs off, not sticks to the cutlery.

I sharpened a spoon a few weeks ago but I can't remember what for .

You can now get syrup (as in treacle, not cough) in sort of "Squeezy" bottles. You turn them up side down and squeeze. Of-course you might like to lick the cutlery.

BTW I was looking back at some threads with photos of people on them.
That photo that Chuffy posted of you sitting on the stairs, was he joking or was that you?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo, cold water on a spoon for ice cream!!!

Really? I not have heard of this, but now I think about Ice cream shops they have the scoop in a container of water which is probably not hot.

Is hot water so bad?

Speicher - me on the stairs? I'm not remembering this photo.
