You certainly went off with a really strong pace...
As did I last time. I hit 70mph quicker than my car would be capable of.^_^
This is one of those rare stages where it maybe doesn't pay to go off too fast as you'll hardly get any drafting and all the power needs to be saved for climbing.

Did you go faster than Thursday Adam?
Yes, thanks to you snapping at my heels, I shaved about 1m 45s off my Thursday time.
But only at significant cost to my long term health. I am half way through The Dog in a Hat, as recommended by Randy, great book btw, and am already thinking about a blood transfusion for the handicap on Tuesday. Although the only credible donor I can come up with is a black pudding ring in the fridge.

Can't get the hang of those slingshot thingys, did one, but that was it. I just can't get the required speed up, prior to the climb.

Good effort - always very satisfying to beat your Thursday time on a Saturday. Glad to be of assistance :thanks:

Wow 1:45 that is impressive! Bet on Thursday you thought you had gone as fast as you could possibly ever go?

To. DATIFTB (doctors association to increase fees through bkool)
From: Dr Soarerv8

Dr.s Brown and Dr. Add and Dr. Stewart,

As you know the fees we've gotten from Bobinskis knees and Bill s wrist will pale in comparison to the huge kickback we will receive from our associates in America when we succeed in inducing a heart attack in SUBJECT RB. I think the courses both Rick and Geoff have picked are good but the brilliant push by Dr Stewart at the end of today's racecourse must have done it.
I look forward to spending our ill gotten gains.
Sincerely yours,
Dr S
Hahaha yes go steady unless your credit rating is good, at least we don't have to worry about the cost of healthcare which is a good thing as we have spent all of our money on fuel for our cars.

Was desperately trying to stay with you and was kind of mounting a come back when my connection died, guess I must have ambled a bit more from there with no marker to chase.

Go and stand in the corner with Bridgy please.
I was looking for the not like button.

Wow it doesn't get any easier the second time.

It does get faster though :okay:.

Last time I was done by the first hill to be honest. This time I kept something for the end although AAAC was probably just playing with me then and letting me catch up.

Not really Bill. For some reason on Thursday I thought I had more time on yourself and Lars but I probably got my minutes and seconds mixed up!.
I realised this just before today's session so like you I did not go off like a bat out of hell with a plan to make good time on the climbs and to pretty much rest on all of the descents.
My plan seemed to be working but the last two climbs finished me off and I was 100% p'd off with myself for relaxing at the end of the stage on Thursday because putting in what I thought was a bit more today resulted in a slower time.
However as I approached the finish today I realised I was not going to make any times gains so threw in the towel but to be honest I had nothing left to make any effort with anyway.
I get the feeling that I was driving into the climbs more on Thursday and getting some really good slingshots where as today I didn't really drive into the climbs.
The good news is that the less that 30 seconds separate us three and Lars is right on my derriere at 9 seconds. Serves me right for trying to preserve a handicap that probably won't happen.

Edit: Sorry I was looking at stage 2 and not the overall, its probably more like 25 and 45 secs

I was .... also, as the many many riders overtook me again and again I was having a little 'virtual' chat with them :hugs:

At one point someone was cutting across the road in front of me slowly pushing me into the ditch so I had to brake.
Had a few near heads on's as and at one point someone suddenly sprung out of the verge to my right.

One of the many bkool quirks) to add to the list) is the fact it takes AGES to update the overall league positions after they have been updated on the stage results. You'd think it would be automatic/instant...?

Looks like I missed a bit of a classic!

Adam and bridgy going toe to toe again. Bill fighting hard for his supper (need me to call you a takeaway? :hungry:) . Lots of people, all down the table, putting in improved times and really pushing themselves and each other to the limit. It's really good to see.
